I've reached another decade in my life...so what do I do? Celebrate in Vegas with my sister, sister-in-law, and dear cousins. We spent 48 hours in Vegas. It was fun and tiring and I haven't pulled an all-nighter in a long time. I couldn't believe how tired I was when I got home.
We flew out the day of my birthday from the newly opened T2. My sister's friend works at The Cosmopolitan so we got good room rates. We arrived in the afternoon and were famished. It was 4:30 and we had reservations at Bouchon at 7:30 so we opted to just eat french fries at Holsteins to hold us over.
::The lobby and a couple of bathroom shots at The Cosmopolitan:: The wallpaper, I loved. I wish I took a close up of it. The white parts are images of a woman in a dress that make up the design.
This was my "salade de betteraves" - heirloom beets, marinated baby fennel, navel orange & Oregon hazelnuts with petite frisee. Very tasty and refreshing for the warm weather.
::Cocktail::
After dinner, we went back to our room for a little break and watched the Bellagio Water Show from our hotel room.
My birthday cake pops. These were the first time I tasted cake pops that weren't too sweet. They were red velvet and were made by my cousin-in-law's sister-in-law, who lives in Vegas.
After our little break, and a little roulette, we went to the Marquee, then turned in.
The next 24 hours were spent at the pool, walking around and window shopping, having a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, taking a 20 minute nap, eating dinner at Sushi Roku, playing more roulette at New York, New York, going to the Haze nightclub at the Aria, and then eating our last meal and breakfast at The Henry. I couldn't believe the sun was up before we turned into our room...In a few hours, we would be boading an airplane back to SFO. Fun but very tiring indeed.
