Last week my son turned "8"! We had a party at Pump It Up this past Sunday. What I like about these types of parties, is that you don't have to worry about cleaning up or setting up. They take care of it and the kids get to release all of their energy. The only thing I had to do was bake the cupcakes which we used in lieu of a birthday cake. I think that's the only thing that took some work. I made the same cupcakes from this party. We invited the cousins and some of Jason's classmates. Parents come, so we like to order enough food for both parents and kids. I made 3 batches of cupcakes so although, the recipe was easy, it did take time to cool and frost. I'm glad to say there was enough food and cupcakes for everyone.
I made some flags out of avery labels (#5160). Sally had a package 001 craft idea here. That's where I got the idea to make flags. I just inserted the images I made in photoshop onto the labels and then just folded them in half with a toothpick.
I interchanged the front and back image just for variation.
Cupcakes waiting to be frosted.
It's best to use a piping bag to frost these since each shape varied because of the paper. If I had a smaller tip I would have been able to frost them easier but I didn't. They came out okay though.
Your birthday decorations and details are always the best! 8 yrs old already?!
