I took another class this past Sunday with my sister at Baking Arts. We learned how to make fruit tarts. These were mini bite sized ones. I did a quick mini shoot with them when I got home and then the family gobbled them up. The kids wanted seconds so my sister was kind enough to share hers.
The bowling party went well. It was a couple of hours and there was no clean up which is the best. The host at the bowling party takes care of everything. The only things I had to do was make the goodie bags for the kids and make cupcakes. The cupcakes were his birthday cake and I also thought were easier to serve at a bowling alley. So far my favorite cupcake recipe and the one most people like, espcially my family is Magnolia's vanilla cupcake recipe paired with Martha Stewart's cream cheese frosting. I'm not a huge fan of buttercream because it's just too sweet for me. I ran out of cupcake liners so I did the parchment paper ones. Pictures to show:

I also made these cookies (I tend to make these a lot) for a little thank you treat. They're also everyone's favorties cookes. I make them smaller than the recipe calls for and also substitute cranberries instead. You should really try these cookies when you get the chance.
My little one has just turned 7! How fast they grow.
We're going to have a bowling party with his classmates and some cousins this Saturday. His birthday was yesterday.
My husband and I took a couple days off work since Jason's on spring break this week. We went to Gilroy Gardens. The weather was perfect and there were no lines at all on the kiddie rides. Here they are sharing a shaved ice refreshment and showing some sibling love:
I've also been bit with the baking bug...I took a microwave mochi class a few weeks back and made these peanut butter mochi last Saturday with my sister:
A few people were surprised we actually made them. They taste really good, especially if you use the crunchy peanut butter.
And here is my 3rd attempt at making the french macaron. It actually came out perfect this time:
Filling: chocolate ganache with salted caramel mixed in the middle. My brother-in-law holding for the picture and before popping in his mouth.
I used this recipe, which was the French meringue way instead of the Italian meringue way that we learned in class.
