baking sunday

I did a lot of baking yesterday. In the morning I made cranberry/orange scones from this book. 

I also made a chocolate chip version for the kids:

Then, I took a macaron class from Baking Arts with Anne, her sister, and my sister.  My box dropped so my chocolate ganache spread all over my macarons - picture a little messy but you can see my work:

Then when I got home, I watched some movies with family, and my pregnant sister-in-law was craving cookies so I made these.  Not from scratch but good and buttery.

 

simplicity pattern 3835

I finally sewed the simplicity pattern 3835.  It wasn't as hard as I thought.  I made it 3/4 sleeve with some extra white linen I had.  I made my sister model it. She's smaller than me so it's a little big on her.

I also love this gift wrap. It's good to have on hand especially when you have a lot of birthday parties to go to and do lot of gift giving.
