birthday weekend and finished projects

Last Sunday my sister turned 40.  So to celebrate, the girls (my sister, sister-in-law, cousin and I) went to the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa at the Fairmont on Saturday.  It was nice and relaxing.

On Sunday we had dinner at Trader Vic's to celebrate with a few friends and family.

I can sew tote bags and zippered pouches. Now I can hem my own pants!  I'm 5 foot 1. Short.  Everytime I buy jeans or pants I always have to get them hemmed.  So now I know how.  I took a class last Monday with my sister and cousin at Muse..  Of course I'm not sure if I will hem the Rock and Republic jeans my sister got for me.  I'm sure I can but since it feels like I have to chop 10 inches from them I'll let someone else do them.  All other pants I can do. I learned how to keep the original hem of jeans too.

I've been knitting a practice sock with Cascade 220 yarn:

I'm slowly knitting my Phildar Swing Jacket.

I'm also knitting my son a scarf! It's like a big cable. I really like the pattern.  It's half finished.

One New Year's resolution is to learn how to knit socks.   Look what Caitlyn sent me to get started:

Dine About Town 2007 is here again in San Francisco.  Participating restaurants have a fixed priced on a 3 course meal.  Last Saturday, Anne, my sister, sister-in-law, and I went to Azie.  Here are pictures I took:
