mother's day gifts & sweets

I hope everyone had a Happy Mother's Day.  I went to Japantown Saturday to pick up a coffee crunch cake for a Mother's Day luncheon at my aunt's house.  I bought if from here. It was very yummy.

It's so uniquely knitted.  It came all the way from New York  from Joni. Since it was a secret pal swap, I don't have her link yet.  I'll post when she sends it to me. She also sent me some tea, chocolate, soap, a tape measure and some buttons. Thanks Joni!

more cupcakes and fabric

More cupcakes...My sister and I made the strawberry cupakes from this book.  It's not exactly from scratch but the strawberry cream cheese frosting was. They were very good.

Look at what I received from Caitlyn of Knot Without My Knitting.  It's Amy Butler and Junko Onishi fabric.  I love it.  I plan to make her something in return.  Thanks Caitlyn!

from the mail

I asked Sally about where she got her labels from this post and she actually made them. She agreed to make me some that say "made by" and "hand knit by".  I got a few little extras and this is how they were packaged.

Cover

There were personalized stickers for Jason, all occasion gift tags packed in this monogrammed tin, and hand made labels in the tin with my name on it. Everything was packaged creatively.

Open

I also got goodies in the mail from Jenn.  We agreed to do this swap back in March but we both took our time sending our packages.  She got hers and I got mine today. She crocheted the little dog and the little tiny Hello Kitty.

paper & ribbon swap

I got my goodies in the mail from Green Bean Baby. She is also the one who organized this Paper & Ribbon Swap. I got tons of ribbon, buttons, paper, a very cute tape measure which I already stuck in my sewing bag, incense, a shirt for my toddler and a onesie for the one on the way! Thanks again Ellia!

swap & charm

My sister bought me this little phone charm.  It's so cute and it's close to my favorite color (slate blue). Me and my husband won't ever get our phones mixed up  now.

I also joined the Paper & Ribbon swap.  Here's a little peek at my package.  You can view the goodies here later on when everyone posts their pictures.

painted bottle

Today was one of my co-workers last day of work.  She gave me this perfume bottle.  She said the painting is inside the bottle and that the artist uses a special pen for it. There are pictures on both sides.

I also did some shopping here for some of their cute fabric.  I don't know what I'm going to make yet but I couldn't resist.

....and the gallery for the postcard swap is posted here on my little mochi's flickr site.

goodies from the mail

I won just jenn's  cookie contest.   Here is a picture of my prize.

I also got my Gifty package.  Cori was my gifty partner and I got a whole lot of stationery goodies that she made herself. She put all of them in this box that she decorated herself. She sent one of her favorite pens the millennium.  I really like how it writes.  Since I'm left-handed sometimes the pen ink smears when I write but this one doesn't.  I also got a book about knitting called "Knitticisms...and Other Purls of Wisdom"- it has great vintage pictures and tells you how not to knit and other little stories.  Thanks Cori!

I had a swap with Kumi from Japan.  Here are pictures of the things I received.  She even made an apron for my son and it fits really well.  You can see pictures here. I also bought some fabric from her online store Atelier JADE. She threw in some extras too! Thanks Kumi!
