Here's a quick knit- I needed some instant gratification:
Purchases/gifts from the mail with creative packaging:
From Leslie for the little kiddies...I purchased some pads and twine and these two bags were included in the package.
Purchased a linen top/dress from Alison. It's beautiful work:
Not much else going on...
Little Miss Ava will be in a little photoshoot for a book...more if everything goes well...
A Thank You card from justjenn ---
A little thank you gift from Sally ---
An illustration of my two kids by Ellia --
and here is what is on my plate now...zippered pouches --
This is my busy month at work - so that means working on the weekends. I worked yesterday but I didn't want to go in today. I'm going to my cousin's wedding in Hawaii and since I'm taking a few days off at the end of the month I need to work hard and finish my work before I leave. I wasn't planning on going but this is the "wedding of the year". You know, one of those weddings that people were just waiting for to happen.
I got another package from Joanna. She made Ava some shoes and a onesie that matches the shoes =) Thanks Joanna! If you want to make your own she has a tutorial on her site.
I've knitted more strawberries - per the request of my son...
and I'm sad I have to leave these two to go back to work tomorrow =(
I received goodies from My Little Mochi. I asked if she would be kind enough to translate a sewing pattern for me and she agreed. She gave the translation and extra goodies for the kids and me.
I must say that her craftmanship is exquisite! Such detail to her work. The bunny and bib are for Ava...
Remeber this fruit?
Here are goodies for Jason:
Thanks so much Myra! Everything is great. I will post a picture of the shirt I make once I attempt it.
More cupcakes...My sister and I made the strawberry cupakes from this book. It's not exactly from scratch but the strawberry cream cheese frosting was. They were very good.
Look at what I received from Caitlyn of Knot Without My Knitting. It's Amy Butler and Junko Onishi fabric. I love it. I plan to make her something in return. Thanks Caitlyn!
Ava is going to be 3 months old tomorrow -- how time flies. I'm also continuing my maternity leave this coming month...but I do have to go back one day next week to finish things up. Work sucks and I do hate my job.
On a happy note....look what I got from Joanna of Stardust Shoes. I asked for the pattern for the baby sling and got the real thing! Thanks Joanna! It's reversible too.
Poor Ava - I was trying to figure out how to wear it and once I did I also attempted to take my own picture -- haha!
So last Thursday I had another ultrasound. This time, it was to measure the size of the baby. She's a little over 5 lbs now but looking at me, I'm not so sure. Here's her profile:
When I came home from the doctor's, I found a package on the front doostep -- All my mail orders came in already so this one was a surprise from JustJenn. She sent the baby-on-the-way, some hand made goodies! Thanks Jenn!
Since I came home early that day, I also made biscotti from this book that Anne got for me. They're very very good. I cheated of course and ate a couple.
....and here are pictures of projects that should hopefully be done before the baby comes out...
a newborn knit sweater and
a mini lap quilt...
I asked Sally about where she got her labels from this post and she actually made them. She agreed to make me some that say "made by" and "hand knit by". I got a few little extras and this is how they were packaged.
There were personalized stickers for Jason, all occasion gift tags packed in this monogrammed tin, and hand made labels in the tin with my name on it. Everything was packaged creatively.
I also got goodies in the mail from Jenn. We agreed to do this swap back in March but we both took our time sending our packages. She got hers and I got mine today. She crocheted the little dog and the little tiny Hello Kitty.
