heath ceramics

I finally went to Heath Ceramics in Sausalito.  I've been wanting to go for awhile so when I received the postcard in the mail about their open studio sale I figured that would be a good time to go.  My sister and I did browsing, picking up and putting back but finally made a decision on what to get.  Here are the pieces I got:

I'm so glad we went.  It's hard to pick because you want everything.  It was crowded because of the open studio sale but it was nice seeing the owners.  There was an article about them in the newspaper the other day.

saturday

So yesterday we (the whole family) went to the Maker Faire.  My co-worker was able to get me two adult tickets We only had to pay for the kids.  I couldn't believe Ava wasn't free - she's not even one yet.

Anyway- I was able to get my book signed by Lotta Jansdotter.  She had a little demo. (a talk more like it about how she started, etc.)  Sitting right next to me I recognized Korallin.  I've never met her (until yesterday) but I do read her blog. I hope my restless son wasn't a distraction.  On to the pictures --

vacation time...

Just a quick post -- I'm off to Hawaii tomorrow - this weekend is my cousin's wedding. I haven't done anything crafty because I've been stressed at work.  I'll probably just sleep on the plane.  I'm a little worried about bringing my knitting needles so I'll probably just bring books.  I'm going w/out the kids and w/out the husband.  I'm a little worried about leaving my kiddies but I'm sure they'll be fine.

It's havaianas time  =)

Also- must show and tell -- Never could I afford a pair of these at regular price but when on the sale rack and at a very good price, and the last pair in my very own size, how could I not!

I finally shook this cold off and the cough is dwindling down - good enough for a trip to Ikea.  We went there to buy a bed for Jason.  I finally was able to look in the fabric section but the husband doesn't have patience to wait so I only bought one design--

My cousin-in-law went to Japan and got me these two dolls --

birthday weekend and finished projects

Last Sunday my sister turned 40.  So to celebrate, the girls (my sister, sister-in-law, cousin and I) went to the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa at the Fairmont on Saturday.  It was nice and relaxing.

On Sunday we had dinner at Trader Vic's to celebrate with a few friends and family.
