anniversary

Today is my 7th Anniversary..though I've known my husband for 15 years.  We usually go to Roy's to celebrate but he's travelling tomorrow and I've been tired from work so we may postpone our plans.

I came home to two sleeping kiddies today so I had to take a picture of them:

It's from Camilla Engman's pattern from the book The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller.

handwriting meme & crochet doll

Here is a handwriting meme that I saw on six and a half stitches. You can also view others on flickr.

I also crocheted this doll from Roxy Craft.  This didn't take too long at all to do. Her hair looks a little weird because I kind of guessed at the instructions.

the woes of this pregnancy

About 3 more months to go...Here is what I do everyday that I'm getting so sick of now. I prick myself on the finger in the morning right when I wake up-- this is my fasting number.  Before I get to feed myself in the morning, I have to inject myself in the stomach with insulin. An hour after that I have to prick myself again to see what my number is.  (We're looking for anything below 140-anything higher isn't good). Then before lunch I'm allowed a snack, 15-30 grams of carbs.  Then lunch time, I eat my allowed 45-60 grams of carbs and test an hour after that...this goes on until my after dinner snack.  I eat three whole meals and 3 small snacks. I prick myself 4 times a day and for now, shoot insulin only in the morning - but as my pregnancy progresses, I may have to shoot insulin maybe during dinner time (as I had to w/ my first pregancy).  On top of that, I have to write everything that I eat in a log so the doctors and nutritionist can see if I'm eating anything wrong and to see if they have to adjust my insulin levels...so far so good.  I really can't wait until I can eat a meal where I actually feel full and where I can eat dessert.  I told the doctors I cheat once in awhile and they said it's understandable and OK!
